Vanemar's 2025 Recap: A Year of Smarter Boat Protection
As the boating industry continues its shift toward connected systems and remote visibility, 2025 marked a meaningful year of progress for us. It was a year shaped not only by new features and partnerships, but by how often our system was actively used to protect boats, prevent damage, and give owners confidence when they were away.
From expanding into new regions to preventing thousands of critical onboard incidents, the past year reinforced a simple idea: smart boat monitoring works best when it is practical, reliable, and built around real-world needs.
This is a look back at what 2025 brought for Vanemar, and what those milestones mean for boat owners, fleet operators, and partners worldwide.

Vanemar 2025 at a Glance
Before diving into details, the numbers tell a clear story of adoption and impact:
New users from 33 more countries joined in 2025 alone, making Vanemar App being used in 123 countries
7,880 critical incidents prevented through early alerts
19,266 Protection Mode activations
5,229 Remote Control data interactions
34 new educational blog articles published
8 international boating and marine technology events attended
These figures represent active system usage, not passive installations. Each data point reflects how often boat owners relied on Vanemar to stay informed and respond early.
Protecting Boats When No One Is Onboard
Many of the most serious onboard incidents occur when a boat is unattended. Battery failures, water ingress, smoke, or unexpected access can go unnoticed for hours or days without proper monitoring.
In 2025, Vanemar App users utilized Protection Mode more than 19,000 times, signaling a growing reliance on continuous monitoring when boats were at marinas, on moorings, or in storage.
Most notably, 7,880 critical incidents were detected early and prevented from escalating. These alerts typically involved:
Rising water levels in the bilge
Smoke or fire risk
Sudden battery voltage drops
Unexpected movement or entry
Early detection allows owners or operators to act before damage spreads, whether by alerting marina staff, activating onboard systems, or simply checking in remotely through the Vanemar App.
This type of protection is not about constant supervision. It is about knowing that someone; or rather, something is always watching when you can't be there.
Platform Progress: Making Data More Useful
Throughout 2025, our development focus centered on clarity, control, and usability. Rather than adding complexity, updates were designed to make onboard data easier to understand and act upon.
Digital Switches via NMEA 2000
One of the year’s most important upgrades brought digital switching capabilities into the Vanemar ecosystem through NMEA 2000 integration. This allowed compatible onboard systems to be monitored and controlled digitally, unifying physical and digital controls within a single app experience.
Real-Time Environmental Data
Environmental awareness became more immediate with real-time temperature and environmental data accessible directly from the Vanemar App. This helped users monitor sensitive onboard areas and respond to abnormal conditions faster.
Smarter Alerts and Grouped Sensors
Alert logic was refined to reduce noise and improve relevance. Grouped sensors and smarter notification handling made it easier to understand what required attention and what didn’t.
Fleet Statistics for Fleet Users
For fleet operators, the launch of Fleet Statistics marked an important shift from individual monitoring to system-wide insight. Usage patterns, performance data, and trends can now be viewed across fleets, helping operators make informed decisions at scale.
From Individual Boats to Growing Fleets
While many Vanemar users are individual boat owners, 2025 saw growing adoption among fleet operators and charter companies. A lot of new fleet partners joined the Vanemar ecosystem.
For fleets, monitoring goes beyond alerts. Fleet Statistics enables operators to observe patterns, identify recurring issues, and plan maintenance proactively. The same system that protects a single boat can now support dozens or hundreds without increasing operational complexity.
This scalability is built into Vanemar’s core design: wireless sensors, centralized visibility, and flexible system expansion.

Partnerships That Reflect Industry Direction
Collaboration played an important role in Vanemar’s progress throughout 2025. Working closely with established marine technology and yacht-building partners helped strengthen system interoperability and align smart monitoring with the broader direction of the industry.
A key collaboration in 2025 was with Garmin and Sirena, centered around AI-assisted, voice-controlled yacht automation projects. This partnership brought together connected systems, digital switching, and intelligent onboard control, demonstrating how monitoring and automation can work together as part of a unified onboard experience.
The project was also recognized at an industry level, with Vanemar’s AI-assisted automation initiative being strong-listed at the Boat Builder Awards 2025.
Together, these collaborations reflect a broader movement toward connected, interoperable yacht systems where monitoring, control, and automation operate seamlessly across platforms.
Looking Back at 2025
2025 was a year defined by measurable impact. More boats were monitored, more issues were detected early, and more owners relied on Vanemar to stay connected to their vessels from anywhere.
As the year closes, the focus remains unchanged: helping boat owners and operators monitor smarter, respond earlier, and protect what matters most on the water.
What to Expect in 2026
In 2026, our focus continues to be on expanding protection while refining the overall monitoring experience.

By adding visual awareness to sensor-based alerts, users will be able to better understand what is happening onboard and verify situations remotely, all within the same monitoring ecosystem.
More Compact and Refined Sensor Design
In 2026, Vanemar’s smoke, motion and entry sensors will be updated with a renewed focus on smaller form factors and a more refined, stylish design. These updates aim to make the sensors even more discreet onboard, blending more naturally into different interior spaces while maintaining the same trusted monitoring role within the Vanemar system.
An Even More Advanced Vanemar App Experience
The Vanemar App will continue to evolve throughout 2026, with improvements aimed at usability, clarity, and advanced functionality. The goal is to make daily monitoring more intuitive, while ensuring that critical information remains easy to access when it matters most for boat owners and fleet operators.
Thanks to our users, partners, and the broader boating community for being part of our journey in 2025. The foundation built this year continues into the seasons ahead; quieter, safer, and better connected. See you next year!
