Smart Boating Upgrade: Smarter Alerts, Grouped Sensors, and Expanded Temperature Monitoring

Smart Boating Upgrade: Smarter Alerts, Grouped Sensors, and Expanded Temperature Monitoring

Boating safety and comfort start with awareness and our mission at Vanemar is to keep you more connected to your boat than ever before. With the release of our latest iOS and Android update (v1.4.2), your Vanemar App is giving you new ways that make monitoring clearer, faster, and more personalized.

This update brings expanded NMEA 2000 temperature data, customizable tank level alerts, grouped displays for multiple sensors, and overall stability improvements. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.

New Features That Matter Onboard

Expanded Temperature Monitoring via NMEA 2000

With this update, the Vanemar App can now display a broader range of temperature data from your NMEA 2000 network. Whether it’s safety-critical engine readings or comfort-related cabin conditions, you’ll see it all in one place.

Supported temperature types now include:

  • Interior / Cabin temperature

  • Engine room

  • Main cabin

  • Livewell (live bait tank)

  • Bait tank

  • Cooling system

  • Heating system

  • Freezer

  • Exhaust gas

  • Shaft seal

It’s not just about seeing the numbers, you can now set custom high and low thresholds to receive alerts the moment conditions go beyond safe limits.

Temperature Warnings

Example: Get an alert if your freezer rises above 0°C, or if your engine room temperature climbs beyond your safety threshold.

Grouped Sensor Display

The more sensors you have, the safer and smarter your boat becomes. But for boaters who install multiple sensors of the same type, like bilge sensors across different compartments, or smoke detectors in separate cabins; your Vanemar App dashboard could feel crowded, with each one taking up its own space. We understand that.

With this update, the Vanemar App introduces a grouped sensor display. Identical sensors are now combined into a single, organized card on your boat detail screen. This means:

  • Cleaner dashboard: Less clutter, so you can focus on what matters most.

  • Faster awareness: See the overall status of all sensors at a glance instead of scrolling through multiple entries.

  • Simplified management: Expand the card only when you need detailed information about individual sensors.

The result is a more streamlined monitoring experience that keeps your dashboard intuitive, even as you scale up protection across your boat.

Customizable Tank Level Alerts

Fuel and water management can make or break a trip. Running unexpectedly low on fuel, or dealing with an overfilled waste tank can leave you facing safety risks, costly delays, or marina hassles.

With this update, the Vanemar App gives you full control through customizable tank level alerts. Set personalized thresholds for each of your tanks and receive instant notifications before things become a problem.

Practical examples for Boat Tank Alerts:

  • Fuel tank: Get an alert when levels drop below 10%, so you can refuel before running into trouble offshore.

  • Waste tank: Receive a warning once it reaches 90%, helping you avoid spills or urgent marina detours.

  • Fresh water tank: Stay informed if levels run low during longer trips, ensuring crew comfort and proper planning.

By tailoring alerts to your boat’s needs, you’ll manage resources more efficiently, plan ahead with confidence. We designed this feature to give you better resource management and reduce the chance of unexpected interruptions during your trip.

Why These Updates Matter

Every feature in this release comes back to a simple goal: giving you more confidence in your boat, wherever you are.

  • Expanded temperature readings mean better awareness of both safety and comfort zones.

  • Grouped sensor cards simplify monitoring when you’re protecting multiple areas.

  • Customizable tank alerts help you manage fuel and resources proactively.

  • Gateway power alerts ensure you’re never caught off guard by connectivity interruptions.
