The Vanemar smart boat battery sensor expands your boat battery monitoring system with a separate view of an additional battery bank. Use this wireless boat battery sensor to check current and historical voltage data in the Vanemar app and receive alerts when voltage moves outside the limits you set.

A day on the water takes planning. Check the latest battery readings on your phone before you head to the marina, so you know whether something needs a closer look.
Open the app to see the latest reported voltage from the battery connected to the sensor. A quick check fits into your day, wherever the boat is moored.
Look back through voltage history to see whether readings have stayed steady or changed between visits. Use those patterns to decide what to check aboard.
Set upper and lower voltage limits for the battery you monitor. An app notification tells you when a reported reading is outside those limits.
BETWEEN VISITS TO THE BOAT
An unexpected voltage change can give you a reason to check the boat sooner. Review the readings, arrange a visit or ask someone at the marina to take a look.
A reading at the dock only tells you the voltage at that moment. The app’s history lets you look across the time between visits and spot a downward trend or an unusual change. That gives your next check a useful starting point.
Your Gateway already measures the voltage of the battery that powers it. If that is your service bank, a Battery Sensor adds a separate view of your starter battery. Add a sensor for each additional bank you want to monitor, with names and alert limits that make sense for your setup.
FITTING INTO YOUR BOAT
Connect to the battery you want to monitor, pair with your Gateway and choose your voltage alerts in the app.
Choose minimum and maximum voltage limits suitable for your battery type and electrical system.
The sensor takes power from the battery it monitors and sends readings wirelessly to the Gateway.
On the VMBS2 model, enable the network-extender feature in the app to help other sensors reach the Gateway. Keep the sensor powered; extender mode increases power use.
BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
The Gateway shows the voltage of the battery connected to its power input. A Battery Sensor is useful for another battery bank that you want to monitor separately. Use one sensor for each additional bank.
This sensor measures voltage, rather than current or remaining capacity. Its readings and history help you track voltage changes; they are not a percentage-charge gauge or a diagnosis of battery health.
Yes. Set minimum and maximum voltage limits in the app for each monitored battery. Choose values appropriate to your battery type and system. Remote notifications need the sensor connected to an online Gateway, active Vanemar Connect and phone notifications enabled.
Its connection to the Gateway is wireless. The supplied power cable connects the sensor to the battery terminals for measurement and power. Follow the installation guide and use a marine electrician if you need help with the electrical connections.
It reports battery voltage and alerts you to readings outside your chosen limits. It does not directly identify a shore-power failure. For an alert when power is lost at a connected mains outlet, use a compatible Vanemar Smart Plug.
The VMBS2 model can act as a wireless network extender once you enable the feature in the app. It needs power from the battery circuit, and this mode increases its energy consumption. Check connections in their installed positions, especially across metal bulkheads.
