STAY AWARE OF ACCESS ABOARD

An opening aboard. An alert on your phone.

The cabin door should not be a question mark after you leave. Monitor the access points you choose and get an alert if one opens while Protection mode is armed.

  • Bring an unexpected opening to your attention.

A monitored door opening can reach you as an app alert, giving you a reason to check who is aboard or contact the marina.

  • Start with the way into your boat.

Cover the cabin entrance, then add sensors for other suitable hatches, windows or drawers you want to follow individually.

  • Make room for everyday life aboard.

Switch to Onboard mode when you return, so normal door activity does not trigger intrusion alarms. Arm Protection mode again when you leave.

FROM THE CABIN DOOR TO YOUR PHONE

A small contact keeps you connected.

Whether the boat is across the marina or far from home, an opening alert gives you something specific to follow up on.

Know which opening needs a check.

Name each sensor for its location, such as “Cabin door” or “Forward hatch”. An alert then gives your check a clear starting point. You can contact someone who has access to the boat or ask the marina to inspect it.

The sensor reports an opening; you decide whether it was expected and what to do next.

Beyond the main cabin door.

A window, hatch or storage drawer may deserve its own sensor. The compact sensor and magnet sit beside each other when the opening is closed and separate when it opens.

Battery power and a wireless link to the Gateway mean no sensor cable to run back through the boat. Choose positions that meet the installation guide’s mounting and environmental requirements.

A CLOSER LOOK

A discreet addition to your boat’s security.

Choose the openings you want to monitor, then check alignment and wireless reception before completing the installation.

  • Two parts working together

Fit the body and magnet close together when closed, following the alignment and gap instructions for your sensor.

  • Cover-tamper detection

The sensor can report when its cover is disturbed, adding another event to your Vanemar monitoring.

  • A reminder when power runs low

Low-battery warnings in the app help you plan a battery change. Follow the sensor guide for replacement and testing.

BEFORE YOU ARM THE BOAT

Entry monitoring, explained simply.

Will it alarm every time I open the door?

Entry intrusion alarms operate when the system is armed in Protection mode. Use Onboard mode during normal activity aboard to disarm entry and motion intrusion monitoring. Your security countdown settings can affect when an alarm is raised.

Does a closed reading mean the door is locked?

No. The sensor detects whether its body and magnet are together or separated. That gives an open or closed contact status, not confirmation that a lock is engaged. Keep your usual physical checks before leaving.

How is it different from a Motion Sensor?

Entry Sensor monitors a specific door, hatch, window or drawer opening. A Motion Sensor detects movement in the area it covers. They can complement each other when you want to monitor both access points and activity inside a cabin.

Can I use it on more than one opening?

Use a separate sensor for each opening you want to monitor. Choose a suitable mounting position, follow the gap and alignment guidance, and name each sensor by location in the app.

What other warnings does it provide?

Alongside opening detection, the sensor supports cover-tamper and low-battery warnings. Check that the relevant alerts are enabled in your Vanemar setup.

What do I need for alerts when I am away?

Pair the sensor with a Vanemar Gateway, activate Vanemar Connect and keep the Gateway online. Enable app and phone notifications, check that the sensor’s alerts are not silenced, and arm Protection mode when leaving.
