More Flexible Notification Management with Vanemar App
When monitoring your boat remotely, the goal is not to receive as many notifications as possible. It is to receive the right information at the right time.
With Vanemar’s latest update, you can choose which boat notifications you want to receive in greater detail, apply the same settings across multiple boats, and temporarily silence repeated sensor alerts without disabling the sensors.
The new Notification Settings and Silence Alerts features give you greater control over your notifications while Vanemar continues monitoring your boat.

Choose Which Notifications You Receive
Different information matters to different users.
Some boat owners may only want to follow critical alarms such as high water in the bilge, smoke, or unauthorized entry. Others may also want updates about battery voltage, temperature, humidity, tank levels, sensor connectivity, or engine data.
With the new Notification Settings, you can manage different notification types independently.
You can organize your notification preferences under the following categories:
- Alarm notifications
- Warnings
- Boat online or offline status
- Power connection and battery voltage
- Vanemar Gateway and sensor connectivity
- Temperature, humidity, and tank levels
- Engine status and performance
This allows you to keep following the updates that matter to you while turning off notifications you do not need.

Apply the Same Settings Across Multiple Boats
When monitoring multiple boats, you do not need to recreate the same notification preferences for each boat.
Select All Boats to apply your notification settings to every boat in your account. The same settings will also be applied automatically to boats you add later.
To use the settings only for specific boats, select Selected Boats and choose the relevant boats.
This feature makes notification management easier for:
- Users who own multiple boats
- Fleet managers
- Charter businesses
- Boat maintenance teams
- Dealers and service providers
By creating one set of preferences, you can keep notifications consistent across all selected boats.
Temporarily Silence Repeated Notifications
Some alarm or warning conditions may continue for a while after you become aware of them.
For example:
- The condition causing a high-water alarm may not have been fully resolved yet.
- A low-battery or low-voltage condition may continue until the issue is fixed.
- A door or hatch may remain open for a certain period.
- Temperature or humidity may temporarily remain outside the selected thresholds.
- A motion sensor may be triggered repeatedly by people on board.
- Sensors may generate expected alarms during maintenance, cleaning, or system testing.
After receiving the first notification and becoming aware of the situation, you may not want the same alarm to continue repeating.
In these situations, instead of disabling the sensor completely, you can temporarily silence notifications from that sensor.
Your Sensor Continues Monitoring
Silencing notifications does not disable the sensor.
The sensor continues collecting data, monitoring the current condition, and communicating with the system. It simply stops sending new notifications to your phone for the duration you select.
This keeps your boat monitoring active and removes the risk of forgetting to reactivate the sensor later.
Important: Silencing notifications does not turn off the sensor or clear the current alarm condition. It only pauses new notifications from the relevant sensor temporarily.
How Long Can You Silence Notifications?
You can silence notifications from a sensor for a selected period or keep them silenced until you turn them back on.
When you select a specific duration, notifications are automatically re-enabled when that period ends.
This feature is especially useful in temporary situations, including:
- While waiting for an issue to be resolved
- While work is being carried out on the boat
- During maintenance or cleaning
- While testing a sensor
- While a known alarm condition continues
This helps you keep repeated notifications under control without turning off the sensor.

These two features are designed for different notification management needs.
Notification Settings
Notification Settings determine which types of notifications you generally want to receive.
For example, you can use Notification Settings to receive engine notifications while turning off temperature notifications.
Silence Alerts
Silence Alerts temporarily pauses notifications from a specific sensor.
For example, after seeing a high-water alarm, you can silence repeated notifications from the same sensor until the issue is resolved.
In short:
- Notification Settings manage your general notification preferences.
- Silence Alerts control temporary and repeated notifications.
